WES FODERINGHAM - 6
Didn't do too much wrong, had to deal with some terrible passbacks from the defence but still doesn't exude the same confidence as McGregor does.
JON FLANAGAN - 4
Not great at all, poor in possession terrible positioning & awareness. With Polster coming in and Barisic back in the team he is now 5th choice full back.
NIKO KATIC - 6
Did well, will benefit from a run of games over the next few weeks and can hopefully cement his place back in the team.
GARETH MCAULEY – 5
It's looking like a season too far for the big Northern Irishman. If anything he also could probably do with a run of games to keep match fitness up, but that won't be happening when Goldson is back fit.
ANDY HALLIDAY - 7 MOTM
Took his goal well, liked the way he shifted it onto his preferred foot and a nice finish. Never does his chances any harm with his performances, but rightly Barisic will still be first pick.
RYAN JACK - 6
Did well in the midfield in patches, much like the whole team. Lovely ball through to Lafferty for the third goal, hopefully he can keep adding that to his game.
STEVEN DAVIS - 5
So cool on the ball, made some good passes one in particular over the top to Candeias that just missed the target. Will want to effect the game more but that's what he can offer, when he's fully up to speed.
LASSANA COULIBALY - 6
Got himself into more advanced areas than we've seen for a while. Took his goal quite well as a snapshot. Not sure he played well enough to threaten the starting slots any time soon but a half decent run out.
DANIEL CANDEIAS – 6
His usual performance, buzzed about and was unlucky a few things never came off for him.
KYLE LAFFERTY – 6
Quite hit & miss as usual from Kyle! Should have had a penalty and took the decisive third goal well but his hold up play, awareness & general quality level needs to increase a lot if he's also to threaten the first team.
JERMAINE DEFOE - 5
Showed some nice touches, and was very unlucky not to add to his solitary goal so far. He's never going to be in the midst of the action, but hopefully he can pop up where it matters.
GLENN MIDDLETON - 3
Replaced Coulibaly with a third of the match to go. Had the beating of their full back from the off, drawing a yellow card. Didn't really get involved as much as he would have liked, though.
JORDAN HOUSTON - 2
On for his debut late on, and could nearly have had a goal immediately but couldn't quite get the shot out of his feet.
STEVEN GERRARD - 6
Eight changes and a solid run out for some players lacking in minutes. I'm not sure we learned anything we didn't already know - good or bad - but at least a number of players got a rest for the bigger games coming up.
