ALLAN MCGREGOR - 8
Terrific save from an awkward Berra header at 1-0 can't be underestimated. Being pegged back at that stage might have been awkward.
JAMES TAVERNIER - 9 MOTM
Two clear assists & the third was a terrific ball in which eventually found it's way to Arfield to stick in the net. Looked like he had a point to prove after his awful mistake on Sunday and showed his resilience to get back on the horse.
JOE WORRALL - 6
Joe, you don't need to try and nick the ball from the defender, nutmeg him and play a brilliantly incisive pass down the wing EVERY time. You can just kick it out of play and get on with the game.
CONNOR GOLDSON – 7
Took his header very well from a brilliant ball in and looked largely untroubled all night, albeit Hearts didn't offer much in the way of a contest.
JON FLANAGAN - 7
He played well! He actually attacked! A decent enough performance in this game - one bone-jarring tackle aside. Not sure he's going to be there past the summer, though.
RYAN JACK - 7
Another 7/10 performance, other midfielders impacted the game a bit more but he didn't do anything wrong. Takes up some half decent positions but still doesn't impact the actual game enough.
STEVEN DAVIS – 9
Best performance since coming back in January. Played a lot deeper which clearly suited him but the fitness & sharpness was a lot more like what we were expecting. Promising sign.
GLEN KAMARA – 8
Back on form after a sticky few weeks. He uses his body so well and plays quick incisive passes, key player in these type of games.
SCOTT ARFIELD - 8
A new position for Arfield as far as we're concerned, a sort of inside right forward and it worked well. He's able to take the ball on either foot, play a pass inside or slip Tav on the outside. Having someone comfortable doing that in that area added a whole new dimension & he took his goal very well considering it was at an awkward angle.
RYAN KENT – 8
A bit more of a free role than he's used to, with the manager mixing things up without Morelos & Candeias in the team. Was given licence to drift across the pitch and find pockets of space to attack from. It worked very well and he was unlucky with a few moves that didn't quite come off. Good performance.
JERMAINE DEFOE – 8
Another who played his best game in a while. I had concerns about Defoe up against Souttar & Berra who might have tried to isolate him. With the tweak we made bringing Kent & Arfield a lot narrower we essentially went man for man up there and that helped Defoe a lot. Took his goal well - just offside for a chance slightly earlier - and didn't shirk the battle.
ROSS MCCRORIE - 4
Probably unlucky to drop out the starting line up again - but glad he got 30 minutes. We had the luxury of resting some players due to the game being over at that point.
EROS GREZDA - 2
Another who got a fairly decent runout - although he didn't really do much with it. Hopefully he starts against Motherwell and we can see him get some sort of run in the team in the closing stages of the season.
KYLE LAFFERTY - 2
On for 10 minutes to give Defoe a standing ovation, really! Did OK but it was a training session by this point.
STEVEN GERRARD - 9
We needed a bit of a shake up to get rid of the Old Firm hangover and with the injury/suspension issues piling up. He certainly gave us that with the 4-3-2-1 formation. Hearts played into our hands a little bit with a 3 men defence, but we were able to extert control & pressure in midfield and even managed to get Flanagan attacking from left back. Food for thought for the next few games.
